Subject: CONCEALED CARRY HANDGUN Legal Seminar Update
There are *significant changes* to NC firearms’ laws effective Dec. 01, 2011. If you have a concealed carry permit, maybe considering one or have a firearm in your home or business for personal protection you should attend this seminar.
Consider the following: Can you carry a loaded gun in a bank, restaurant or a movie theatre? Are you required to ‘retreat’ in your home or business? Can I carry a loaded handgun in my car? How about
restaurants that serve alcohol, ‘warning shots,’ brandishing a firearm, trespassers, going to the aid a of third party, crossing a state line?
Knowing how to shoot can keep you out of the grave, knowing when to shoot can keep you out of jail. What is the first thing you do when confronted by a police officer? You’ve shot someone now what? What are the three conditions that permit the use of deadly force? Think quick! Are you going to jail? Can I take my handgun on an airplane? You probably think you know this answer. Blood alcohol content and guns. And you thought that was just about driving a car. Federal Firearms Owners’ Protection Act of 1986. “Say what?” Kids and guns. Sexual assault (rape) and deadly force. You shot a “bad guy” and he fell out the door and that wasn’t supposed to happen. Tampering with evidence. Civil liability/criminal liability.
Two seminars will be held, Sat. Dec. 03 and Sun. Dec.04, at the “Charlie’s Barn” auditorium located on the Bouldin farm, 7 miles west of Pittsboro, 1857 Hillside Dairy Rd.
You *must* preregister by Dec. 01 so materials can be ordered. Each participant will receive a current copy of “Law Governing the Use of Force for a Private Citizen” and necessary handouts.

Fee: $25.00 per person paid at the door, cash or check made payable to B.L. Zirilli, CPI.
Time: Registration, 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM. Seminar begins 9:00 AM sharp, until around 12:00 noon. Bring pin and paper, snack, drink. Coffee provided.
Directions: West Hwy 64 from Pittsboro, approx. 6 miles turn right on Buckner-Clark Rd. (across from the Progress Energy facility), one mile turn left on Hillside Dairy Rd., 3/4 of a mile to farm driveway on left. Look for yellow “GUN CLASS” sign. Up driveway to building on the right. NO LOADED GUNS OR AMMUNITION IN THE BUILDING State law – WHY?
OPTIONAL RANGE TIME: I will conduct *one* session of firing line exercises per day on a private pistol range near the auditorium after the seminar. We will go through the 3, 5, and 7 yard line drills. Why is 21 feet so important to your survival? Mulit-shot drill, draw and fire, etc. Begin around 1:00 PM. $20.00 per person paid the day of the seminar. Clearly indicate you wish to participate when you e-mail me to preregister. Space very limited. I can only accommodate ten participants per day. Weather permitting.
You MUST BRING: Your own handgun, holster and belt, eye and ear protection, minimum 100 rounds of ammunition. Targets supplied. * Bring a bag lunch and beverage.*
