Bynum Front Porch Three-Month Storytelling Series Begins September 10th
Please join us for an evening of storytelling at the Bynum General Store on Saturday, September 10th at 6:30 pm. You will have the opportunity to hear a variety of storytelling styles and stories from some of the areas finest!
Local favorite and Bynum native, Ed “Moose” Duke will kick off the night. He is a retired high school welding teacher currently living in Moore County where he now enjoys skydiving and making scrap metal art (which has been displayed and sold at galleries and art festivals throughout NC). He has recently added “professional liar & storyteller” to his list of hobbies and is writing a book about his life in Bynum, on the mill hill.
Second on the bill is J.A. Bolton. Born in Rockingham, Bolton grew up hunting, fishing, raising hunting dogs and listening to the old timers tell tales. A member of the NC Storytelling Guild, Bolton entertains audiences with the tales he heard growing up along with stories of his own.
Rounding out the evening is Randy Rayfield, teller of Tall Tales & Short Truths. Born in North Carolina he was raised on a farm in lower Union County, N.C. with a South Carolina address. When he retired, he decided to start doing the things he really enjoyed: telling stories and napping in a hammock. As a storyteller, writer & catfish cook, Randy’s stories are a mixture of personal experiences and recollections. From his observations of everyday things he blends together humor and slight exaggerations with exiguous use of the truth. His stories are insightful, unique and sometimes just plain absurd, but always entertaining.
Please come join us for a fun-filled evening. As always, there is no admission price but we do pass the hat for donations to bring these wonderful storytellers to our Bynum Front Porch Stage.
Bynum Front Porch is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing community together thru our programs. www.bynumfrontporch.org.
