Thanks for the post about the Farmer’s Alliance in Siler City. It is one of my favorite stores and such an asset to our community. It really is like stepping back in time and reminds me of a store that I used to go to with my grandfather in Tennessee.

I have taken friends and family there when they have come to visit and everyone has had an experience of delightful nostalgia. It is a rare gem of true farm store and general store that has had its doors open since 1888! Imagine all of that history tucked away on those shelves. You can find quality clothes, underwear, hats, overalls, handkerchiefs, and a basement floor with a boot selection unsurpassed. You can stock up on local farm-raised meat, local honeys, jams, and pickles, find garden supplies, seeds and plants, and the beekeeping section is the best that I have ever seen. The prices are reasonable and you find some great deals such as 25-cent thread, a 5-dollar rack of new vintage house dresses and seeds by the pound.

If you find yourself in Siler City don’t miss this store!
