If you have an “in” to State Employees’ Credit Union they have the absolute best interest rates on deposit accounts in Pittsboro. Regular banks do not (and cannot) offer .25% interest on a CHECKING account.
Their MMAs and Savings (Shares) accounts earn 1.25% and some of their CDs earn as much as 2.25% depending on the terms.
As someone who knows more than a bit about the banking industry… SECU all the way.
