Let’s look at cheaper alternatives to LEED Certification

The US Green Building Council’s LEED certification process has been  heavily criticized on this list, for its cost, among other things. It  is worth noting that LEED is not the only game in town. The following  blog post lists alternatives to LEED, including Green Globes, which is  a less expensive certification.

If the commissioners, having abandoned LEED, wish to save taxpayer  dollars rather than spending them on energy-inefficient construction  in the future, perhaps they will adopt an alternative green  certification process for public buildings.
