Subject: Random Act of Kindness – To The Starbucks Lady – Thanks
I ordered my coffee and discovered that my Starbucks card had only 1.68 on it, I had no cash, my son had my credit card and that Harris Teeter has no ATM. Embarrassed I stepped away to try to activate a backup card by telephone but since it had been too long, I was told “You have to see your financial institution!” Now what. Well, to my surprise, the Starbucks barrista walked over to where I was “fumbling” literally and handed me my drink and said, “The lady behind you paid for your drink.”
I have no idea who she is or what she looks like, but wish to thank her publicly for the random act of kindness and promise to pay it forward. It came just at the moment in time when my day had not been going well. Her thoughtfulness raised my spirits, made me smile and enjoy not only the drink but breathe in the fresh air and look into the beautiful blue sky and changed the rest of the day.
Let us all follow her example and pay it forward. We never know how even the smallest act can turn around someone’s day.
