Empower your self healthcare and save money by learning how to createĀ
safe and effective herbal remedies from plants that grow locally. JoinĀ
community herbalist Kim Calhoun as we make yummy anti-viral elderberryĀ
syrup and potent anti-bacterial echinacea tincture*, two valuableĀ
allies for your familyā€™s prevention and treatment of cold, flus, soreĀ
throats and more.

Weā€™ll gather at AbunDance Healing Arts Sanctuary where participantsĀ
will be inspired by Kimā€™s extensive home apothecary as well as a briefĀ
walk around the yarden to gather wild greens to garnish and fortifyĀ
our lunch. Participants will experience several methods of tinctureĀ
making, including working with dried and fresh plants, leaves,Ā
flowers, and roots.

Go home with an ounce of elderberry syrup (please bring a small jarĀ
with lid), recipes, resource list, and the know-how to get startedĀ
making your own plant medicine!

Class size is limited to 12 people age 14 and older. Pre-registrationĀ

*Tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts of herbs and are taken byĀ

Various solvents are used to extract the plant medicine, usually aĀ
combination of alcohol and water, although vegetable glycerin or appleĀ
cider vinegar may also be used.
