Want to give a “shout out” to 3 local businesses. They have absolutely gone above and beyond for our family this Christmas.
Donna Bianco, of Bella Donna, is an incredible asset to this community and has become a friend to us over the years. We recently ordered dinner from her just days after our son had major surgery. When my husband went to pick up the food, Donna refused payment. She said that she knew we were too busy
caring for Jack to cook, and it was her Christian duty to feed us. It was probably a simple act of kindness to her, but we thought it was an incredible act of generosity. Thank you, Donna. We love you!
Amanda, of “Shear Art Hair Studio” (919 545 9770) came to our home to cut Jack’s hair (and mine!!) when she learned about Jack’s surgery. They have an elevator, and we could have gotten him upstairs in his wheelchair, but she wanted him to be comfortable in his own space. She was patient with Jack, and took time to make me beautiful as well. Her kindness and generosity made all of us feel better that day. Thank you, Amanda. We love you too!!
Doug, of Doug’s Tire and Auto is closed for renovation this week, but took our call when our truck got stuck in 4-wheel drive mode. He took the transmission apart to repair it, and replaced a wheel for us that we had
been putting off replacing for months. All this while his business was closed!! But even more extraordinary, he refused payment for labor!! When my husband tried to argue with him, his response was, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
These are the things that I love about living in a small town. Business owners are more than business owners. They become part of our lives and our families and the fabric of this community. Donna, Amanda and Doug, may your generosity come back to you again and again.
With love,
The Priestley Family
