Subject: Missing pets

Several years ago we lost 2 dogs via abduction. We called PETA and reported the many dogs and cats that were missing, ABC did an investigation and found that a man in Raleigh was traveling to our area and catching dogs of certain types and size, keeping them on his property until he could fill his orders.

The investigator and his crew went under cover at several animal shelters and found they were selling animals to this man. They went to his place and saw many animals in cages, the investigator and film crew were attacked by the man with a tractor and had to flee. The Carolina Research Center was found to be gassing cats even with collars, and not doing it correctly and some cats were still alive after inspection.

The story made the national news and dog and cat napping all but stopped. Looks like it has started again in our area and probably in other counties also.

Keep an eye open for trucks or vans with cages or boxes in them, or dogs barking from inside these vehicles.Get a license plate and description and report it to the authorities, or follow them so they have to leave the area, but do not approach them as the may be armed. If you have a free range cat or dog they are easy picking for these people, if your pet is visible from the road, that is an invitation to come back when you are not home and snatch them.
