The Chatham County Public Health Department will host a FREE! parent workshop called “Can We Talk” on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 9:00am-2:00pm. This workshop is designed to help parents enhance their role in their children’s sexuality and health education and to encourage parents to talk openly and as often as possible.

Pre-registration is encouraged to insure adequate materials and  lunch.  Space is limited. For more information contact Erika Gabriel at 919-545-8515 or by email at . Thanks.

If you are a parent of a teenager or know someone who has teens, and may be interested in learning how to talk to teens about puberty, self-esteem and other sexual health related issues, then please share this information. Please share with other organizations that may have parents that are interested.

ATTENTION: Major construction is underway so once you turn onto 87 go around the “ROAD CLOSED” barriers and take the gravel access road to the right. Pass CORA, the first building on your right, continue through the parking lot approaching the DSS building, the green and white building on your right, and park in the parking lot. The

conference room is down the hill at the end of the building. Sorry for any and all traffic inconveniences.

If trying to enter DSS near Council On Aging, make a U-turn to continue back down 87 going towards Hwy 64 East. Turn right to get onto Hwy 64 East, take the Pittsboro Chapel Hill exit on the right, turn right at the STOP sign onto Hwy 15/501 South towards town. Once at the roundabout, make the first right onto West Street at the roundabout.

At the 1st traffic light make a right onto Hwy 87.  Go around the “ROAD CLOSED” barriers and take the gravel access road to the right.
