Thanks Henry for making your observation about the loyalty of a number of patrons of the GSC.  I am a patron of the General Store and I love their food.

That aside, I also have a number of customer service issues arise over my years of patronage.  I have attempted to find resolution to my unease through contact with Vance and Joyce directly, over the phone and through email.  My multiple attempts at contact went unanswered and my problems with GSC unresolved.  Despite being ignored I have returned, again and again.

I lowered my expectations for the level of customer service I demand out of other eat-in establishments because they are the GSC.  They are not Fearrington House or even Chili’s.  Their facilities and staff are not world class but, I would argue, their food is.  GSC is very representative of Pittsboro in a way.  They are not perfect, never were, never will be.  That being said, I ask that the complaining about them on the Chatlist come to an end, surrender to the fact that they are what they are and probably not going to change.  Sit down, have a Pittsburrito and chill out.
