Subject: Response to Traveling Businesses
We are fully legit in all areas including state, county and federal. We also have insurance and pay taxes on our business and products we sell just like anyone else that runs their business in a “permanent” building in this county.
We are NOT a temporary business.
We plan to stay! We are Chatham County residents and my husband is a native of Siler City.
The advantage of being a traveling business is much more fun because we can go to events that are offered in the county and other surrounding areas to share our product and meet new people. We go to them instead of them coming to us! Our goal wasn’t to take business from anyone else, but to offer the folks a choice on who they want to get their product from. The big chain companies do it all the time. I’m sure we will have the same concern if Starbucks arrives as the county grows but competition makes us work harder and keeps our mind exploring new ideas.
We thrive on making a consistent and affordable product while maintaining excellent customer service. Not many big chains can say the same. It is all about money with them but we got into it mainly for the passion of the product we sell and the joy it brings to us to be able to offer this to our customers. We also wanted our teenagers to build a strong work ethic, become more responsible and understand the meaning of earning money as they grow into adulthood. If it grows and we end up in a permanent building, we will grow, but for now this is the route we chose.
We also wanted to do something unique and separate ourselves from other businesses. I believe we have accomplished that task just in two months. We would love to give an interview to anyone interested in learning how we got started and why we chose this type of business. My husband is the mastermind behind it all. I am just the driving force. We make a great team!
Sincerely,
