Subject: Traveling businesses
I was hoping that any of you out there who are having “issues” with us traveling businesses would stop by and ask us directly. We have a voice and I can speak for Noel and Tommy and Tina when I say they are very lovely people..
I went back and forth as to whether I should answer you all in regards to the so called issues you have with us and I wasn’t going to but I’m tired of seeing us get criticized for trying to make a living.
Yes, I pay taxes. I have a Tax ID number with the state of NC but I refuse to post it here. Yes, I pay rent to have a space at the Old Ford Dealership. Yes, I had to get my permit from the Chatham County Health Department and NO, it did not piggy back off of my commissary which is Virlies. I had to go through “you know what” to get it, just ask anyone on BBS, they followed our ordeal. And, Lisa Morgan has stopped by my cart while I was fully operational and gave me my own inspection and I passed with flying colors.
I keep my permit, my business license and my recent inspection with me on my cart if you would like to stop by and see it. I have nothing to hide. I live in Moncure and I could have put my cart ANYWHERE but I chose to put it in Pittsboro because I wanted to boost the economy where I live. I buy my bread from The Bread Shop in downtown Pittsboro and I buy my coleslaw from Piggly Wiggly because I too want to keep the businesses in Chatham County alive and well.
I am in no way taking any business away from anyone. Hardees is ALWAYS packed, just drive by and look at the parking lot on any given day while I am out there and I don’t think my 2-3 hours a day selling hotdogs is going to cause the General Store, S&T Soda Shop or Virlies to go out of business.. Why else would Chris at Virlies support me and agree to be my commissary? He has done nothing but support me and my husband.
I am not doing this for my health (it’s very hard work) I do it because my husband’s business is suffering and we are doing everything we can to keep our house so this hotdog cart was a way to get a little bit of income to help pay bills. If you would stop by and talk to me, I would more than likely strike up a conversation with you and you would learn a bit more about me and my family. So please, going forward, if you have any questions or concerns, come ask me…or Tina and Tommy..or Noel. We would be more than happy to answer any questions you have.
Rather than start a cruel posting on here that has hurt us all deeply. And I encourage you to get to know Tommy and Tina, they are wonderful people and if you only knew what they struggle with you would not go about things the way you have. And I encourage you to stop by and get a hot dog, and enjoy what all my regulars are enjoying!!!
Sincerely,
Lynn aka Big Daddy Dogs
