Randy (not Voller):
Lordy I have not heard such belly aching in a while. Geez! Have you not been paying attention? We NEED Public Transportation for a wide variety of reasons!! Global warming, gas emissions, cost of gas, traffic, etc. That is what the bus is for.
Whenever there is something new, it takes a while to really catch on. Even though folks agree we need “something new”, when it actually happens, it takes a while for folks to get used to the change.
The bus is a perfect example of this. Now that we have it, folks have to give up their habit/addiction of driving their own car to work/school/whatever and learn to ride the bus. Admit it – you jump in your car without even thinking of the bus, don’t you? You don’t even wonder if a bus/train/other form of public transportation is available that could save you money, wear-and-tear on your car, the environment. You just jump in your car and off you go. Same for everyone else out there. It is a habit that we all need to give up eventually when more and more Public Transportation becomes available.
So quit belly aching. Randy Voller is not the problem. In this case, he is part of the solution. He is trying to create that much needed Public Transportation. And it will take a while to “catch on”.
Instead of moaning and groaning – how about becoming a cheer leader for this Public Transportation effort and try to get more folks to ride the bus. Then, if after a good try and it still doesn’t work – we can think of something else to try. TRY is the operative word here.
Remember the song: “Give Peace a Chance”? How about “Give Public Transportation a Chance”.
