Roundabouts create really lousy traffic flows

The roundabouts create really lousy traffic flows, and I am sorry to see that one is being put in for the new library and along 87, with the life of several trees being part of the cost. I avoid the one at the courthouse whenever I can—some lanes get to go, even when it’s not those cars’ turn according to who arrived first or waited longer, and I have seen the one in Southern Pines or thereabout leave long lines of cars waiting to go.

I think this will impede traffic and will make my long commute home even more unpleasant.

Is there nothing that can stop a roundabout?

Also, while I”m at it–the canopy of trees covering Pittsboro needs to be protected. With new development at the law enforcement center, not only the biggest and grandest trees should be spared, but those someone had the foresight to plant years ago, and have a decent size to them should be saved. Parking lots should go around the trees–we need the shade, oxygen, and cooling effects of as many trees as we can keep thriving…
