Odd everyone should mention those coming from Siler City as never yielding on the Pittsboro Traffic Circle. My experience has been different. I have almost  been hit several times by people coming off of 15-501 heading South. Seems to me  that the people from that direction don’t yield very often. I guess its all in  perspective. The bottom line is that people in general don’t yield at that  circle.

The entire traffic circle is problematic. Heading onto 64 west, there might be people trying to cross the road at the General Store as well as traffic trying to pull out. People really should be crossing at the crosswalks, not the road directly in front of the cafe.

Heading onto 15-501 North one also runs the risk of an accident due to parked cars trying to back out of the parking spaces in the downtown area. I specifically avoid shopping or eating in the downtown because of the parking situation. Its way too dangerous.

So, please don’t point fingers at a specific group of people. (those coming from Siler City) The fact is there are many problems with the traffic circle in  Pittsboro.

I wonder why people don’t use the by-pass more. Personally, I find it  faster to go through town most of the time. The by-pass is longer.

Just my thoughts.
