Carole,
My problem is not with the function of Officer Hadley’s position, it is with the demeanor in which he carries it out.
I don’t know about you but I was brought up with the notion that one should respect the law as they are servants of the community. Serve and Protect. I have this respect, I was
nothing but polite and apologetic to Officer Hadley. Despite this, Officer Hadley treated me as though I was under his judgement and not a citizen or even a person. Carole, I understand the consequence of speeding. While I am never happy about being cited for speeding, I understand that when it happens I am at fault. I understand the function of the officer’s duty to write these citations. What I do not understand or will sit quietly and tolerate is the abuse of power and the intimidation that Officer Hadley displayed.
Again, I have no problem with Officer Hadley doing his job only his poor attitude.
