With all this talk of harvesting deer, I find myself wondering exactly how would one approach such an endeavor? I have deer in my yard nearly every day. My subdivision does not permit discharging of guns, and there are other houses within an unsafe distance, so I wouldn’t consider shooting them, but I know the deer are easily within bow distance. Assuming I did take one with bow and arrow, what’s next? What does one need to do immediately to preserve the meat? I am not setup to butcher a carcass, so where would I take it, and how quickly do I need to get it there? What’s the cost?
I don’t know if I would or would not do this, but getting the details would certainly be informative.
