Subject: CCCC offers some great classes this month!

Southwest Pottery Revival Series. Dates: March 6-May 1; Time: will vary. First class Friday, March 6  will meet at the CCCC Pottery Studio, Siler City, 6-9 pm. If you are a potter and would like to learn some new old techniques, this class if for you. You will learn the “old techniques† with present day innovations. Handbuilding, various shapes, burnishing surfaces, decorating w/colored slips and firing in a bonfire for oxidation and reduction.  Cost: $56.25. Instructor: Coy Quakenbush

Mad Potter Tea Party. Dates: March 7- 29; Time: 3-8 pm, Saturday and
Sunday. Location: CCCC Pottery Studio, Siler City. This pottery class
will teach you how to create a functional Tea Pot or a tea set. March 29
will be a tea party 3-5 pm. Cost: $50.  Instructor: Jennifer Siegel.

Red Hot Metal-Blacksmithing: Dates: March 7-April 25; Time: Saturday
9-1. Location: Metal Workshop, Sage Academy, Siler City. Basic to
advanced forging and fabricating techniques. You will the understanding
of what blacksmithing is and what is needed to continue. Cost: $76.25.
Instructor: Lucas House. They are only two spots available for this
class

Glass Pendant Workshop: Date: March 9 and or March 12; Time 5-8 pm.
Location: Rock Rest Rd., Pittsboro.  You will learn the basic techniques
of glassblowing while making beads and pendants. Cost Each class:
$46.25. Instructor: Jonathan Davis

Welding for Beginners: Dates: March 10-April 28; Time: 6-9 pm.
Location: Metal Workshop, Sage Academy, Siler City. Create fun and
useful metal items. Learn the basic techniques of welding, brazing
cutting with oxyacetylene as well as mig welding.  Cost: $56.25.
Instructor: Kevin Kuhnel.

Plaster and Stone Carving: Dates: March 10-April 18; Time: 6-9 pm.
Location: Siler City, Main Campus. Students will be introduced to making
plaster casting in wooden forms and how to carve in stone. Because
materials for this class are expensive, there is a $45 materials fee.
Cost (class only): $55. Instructor: Aaron Smith.

Glass paperweight workshop: Dates: March 10; Time: 5-8; Location: Rock
Rest Rd, Pittsboro. Not interested in making a pendant or beads,
consider making taking this class where you will learn the basic
techniques of glass blowing while making a beautiful paperweight. Cost:
$46.25; Instructor: Jonathan Davis.

Creative Welding for Artists: Dates: March 11-April 29; Time: 6-9 pm.
Location: Metal Workshop, Sage Academy. If you know the basics of
welding and would like to become more creative, you may want to consider
taking this class.  Students will learn how to create steel sculptures
with twists and turns and bronze highlights. Cost: $56.25; Instructor:
Kevin Kuhnel.

Spring Watercolors in bloom: Dates: March 11-April 29; Time: 7-9 pm.
Location: Pittsboro Campus. This class will enhance your skill and
knowledge of watercolors. A basic knowledge of painting is helpful but
not required. Cost: $60. Instructor: Kelly Eldridge

10 Steps to Powerful Communication:  Date: March 28; 9-12 noon.
Location: Pittsboro Campus. A shortened version of our original program.
Karen Dash, who is experienced teaching communication skills, will lead
this workshop.  You will learn how effective listening, voice modulation
(tone and volume), and body language play important roles in
communication. If you are considering changing careers, going for job
interviews, asking for a raise, or dealing with personnel, then you
don’t want to miss this opportunity. The cost is only $30. This
class will meet at the Pittsboro Campus, Conference Room 2.
