Subject: Unused/Unwanted Pesticide Collection Day

There will be a collection day for unused/unwanted pesticides held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Southern States – Siler City Service from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

This is a free service provided by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in cooperation with North Carolina Cooperative Extension.  This program will allow you to properly dispose of any unwanted pesticides.  Unused and unwanted pesticides can present a potential contamination problem around the home or farm.  There are many such products still stored in storage buildings or garages because the people don’t know how to properly and legally dispose of them.

This program is designed to do just that.  Take some time and do a little housecleaning to get ready for the holidays and bring those old pesticides by Southern States in Siler City on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to get them out of your way.

For more information you may contact the Chatham County Center of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service at 919.542.8202 or by e-mailing <mailto:> for more information.
