Hi Everyone,

I am very troubled by the O’Brian endorsements from the Chatham County Democratic Party, the Chatham Coalition, and the Chatham County Association of Education.  I can not remember anything like this happening before. These actions make me feel as dirty as some of the push polls that occurred with Bunkey and Gary Phillips.

The CCDP wants you to vote against Mia, just because she is a Republican. The CC wants you to vote for Flint because he wants their support. The CCAofE never polled their membership. Had they, they would have found that educators that know Flint would not recommend him for the BOE. What is missing in these three endorsements is what is best for Chatham schools and Chatham Students.

Two individuals, Greg Soloman and Meg Oakley, who are only interested with improving county schools have endorsed Mia. Both Greg and Meg have invested years and hundreds of hours in our schools. From science clubs and PTA, to PTA Thrift, to running for the BOE, to running campaigns for the BOE. They have attended tens of BOE meetings…They know our school system.

I have known Flint for at least five years. I met him at a meeting of North Chatham parents that were focused on getting a high school built in the north end of the county. Personally, he is a nice guy. And I think he does want to do something to improve the schools. I am not sure the  BOE is the right fit.

I met Mia a few months ago. She is informed, energized, and driven.
