A few of our fall classes starting in August/beginning September:
Watercolor: You will enhance your watercolor skills by using a variety of techniques; choosing a subject, design content, composition, will all be considered in this class.
Class times and dates: Wednesday, 6:00-9:00 p.m; 8.20.08-10.8.08. Cost: $55. eight weeks. Instructor: Kelly Eldridge. Pittsboro Campus
Tea for Ten: Enhance your pottery skills by taking this workshop dedicated to making tea pots. You will learn the skills and “how to†design and shaping your tea pot. Class time and dates: Saturday, 1-6,
8.23.08-9.29.08. Cost $90. Seven weeks. Instructor: Jennifer Siegel. CCCC, Pottery Studio, Siler City.
Basket Weaving. This popular class is offered for beginnings and those who wish to further enhance their basket weaving skills. Identifying different types of reed, proper techniques for finishing baskets will all be addressed in this class. Depending on skill level, each student will make 8-10 baskets. There will be extra costs for supplies.
Class time and dates: Monday, 9-noon, 8.25.08-11.3.08. Cost $55. 11 weeks; Instructor: Eva Green. Pitttsboro Campus. The same class will also be offered on Tuesday. Same time, starts 8.26.08-11.4.08
Handweaving: This popular class has returned for our fall schedule. Instructor, Jean Vollrath is renowned for her beautiful hand woven scarves, coats and jackets. Students will learn how to operate a loom and make fabrics. Class time and dates: Tuesday, 6.30-8.30, 8.26.08-10.14.08. Cost $55. 8 weeks. Siler City Arts Incubator
Scroll Saw Art: This is the first time this class has been offered. Students will learn the basic of the scroll saw features and accessories. There will be a “hands on project†that students will be able to take home. This class has three components: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Each class costs $76.25. This cost covers all materials and equipment. Beginners class time and dates are: Thursday, 4-6 pm; 8.26.08-9.25.08; Intermediate: 10.2.08-10.30.08; Advanced: 11.6.08-12.04.08. Instructor: Wole Ajala. CCCC, Siler City Campus.
Adult piano and keyboard – back by popular demand! Classes will be taught by Liz Tedesco. There are two classes offered this time. A beginners class where students will learn the basic understanding of the principles of music as well as learning to play songs, write songs and read music.
Class times and dates-beginners: Tuesday, 6:00-7:30 pm; 9.2.08-10.14.08; Cost $55. Seven weeks. Intermediate: Thursday, 6-7:39 pm; 9.4.08-10.16.08. Cost 55. Pittsboro Campus.
Reading and writing books for children: We are excited about this new class that Andrienne Bashista will be teaching. Andrienne will bring her expertise to this class and students will learn about the different levels and genres of books written for children as well as explore writing their own children book. Class dates and times: Thursday. 6:30-8:30 pm; 9.4.08-10.23.08. Cost $65. Pittsboro Campus.
