I’ve been told that some of you apparently haven’t received my letter indicating my move into a new office. I’m really sorry. If you didn’t get my mailing and missed the wonderful article in the Chatham News and Record, I’ve opened my new office in the Nooe Building in Pittsboro at 224 East Street. That’s right on the corner of Small St. and 64 in Pittsboro. You can now reach me at 919-548-4342. The following is what the mailing was all about.
To my clients – for being so patient during my year of traveling to study with Dr. Richard Strozzi-Heckler at the Strozzi Institute in Petaluma, California – thank you. I am now a Somatic Coach. To my added delight, in recognition of the Strozzi Institute’s strong relationship with the Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, Dr. Strozzi-Heckler came here, himself, to instruct us on our last leg of the training. It was an honor to receive my certification as a Strozzi Somatic Coach from him – one of the top 50 coaches in America.
Working with people in the relevance of the body to shift long held beliefs and behaviors that live in the body to achieve better results in life is a dream come true. Somatic Coaching was the next logical step for me to help people improve the quality of their lives. Massage Therapy was my first love and I, of course, will continue to work in that field with Swedish, MFM, Medical Massage and Somatic Bodywork.
It’s been said and rightly so – “the issue’s in the tissues”. That’s where we hold our tensions, problems and beliefs about ourselves. Receiving the immediate benefits from massage for the “tissues” along with learning to increase our somatic self awareness and learning behavioral options to control and limit those “issues” in our lives offers long term comfort to our long suffering “tissues” .
The Nooe Building in Pittsboro is a lovely period home. (I lucked out again). With “talk” therapy, aromatherapy, hot stone therapy, massage therapy, Somatic Coaching and Bodywork and my office mate, KimLien Lafitte, who is a Structural Integrative Therapist, we are building a health network and center for all our clients right here in one building.
I look forward to seeing my “Original Circle” of clients from Siler City and Pittsboro as well as welcoming new clients into my practice.
