Subject: Thank You COA

I want to personally and publicly thank Council on Aging for all they have done for my husband’s uncle, Byron Jones. They have provided Meals On Wheels services along with case management. They have greeted and cheered him with frequent visits over the years. Without them, I don’t think he would have lived as many years as he did.

Sadly, he left us this week. It was COA staff who discovered his body yesterday as they brought him his lunchtime meal. They quickly called my mother-in-law and stayed with her and helped her through the process of calling the proper authorities. They didn’t leave until they knew that everything was under control and the family was consoled.  Thank you for all you have done COA staff and volunteers. Your work is sincerely appreciated.

For those of you who knew Byron “Squirrel” Jones, please join us on Sunday, June 29th from 3-4:30pm at Griffin Funeral Home in Pittsboro and share some of your memories. We ask in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Chatham County Council On Aging.

Thank you.
