Hello Chathamites,
Just want to say “DITTO” to the lady who wrote about Ikey Straughn, who was the bright light, of the collection site behind Food Lion. You would never have known what a kind and generous man he was, if you had not taken the time to say hello.
He never met a stranger and when you can say that about a person, you know he is the “real deal” of a man. Yes he was kind and gracious, funny and a barrel of laughs when he told his jokes. But he was most of all a good Christian husband and family man.
If some of you never met him, you really missed knowing someone special. I know that his family knows how great a man he was and his memories will keep him alive in their hearts forever.
When we lost our son, someone told me that God’s flower garden must be beautiful because he has a new flower now. So I say to all of you, that God has an even more beautiful garden now with Ikey Straughn.
