Thank goodness for Brenda, who actually understood what I was trying to say. She was right on the money.

And, shame on you Steve for always trying to twist things that I say and make them into something they are not. A perfect example was the Piggly Wiggly bench comment.  I was never talking about a specific group of people that was only in your mind. I loved also when you mentioned the ladies outside Chatham Marketplace of course that was very chauvinistic of you.

You can call me a elitist all you want but perhaps you are talking about yourself. You and?Forrest and Ed can show resistance and react with mockery and poke fun in relation to vegetarianism, but it still doesn’t change things about factory farming.

I hope that the majority of us have compassion for all animals not just our domesticated ones. I know the majority of us would be appalled at the atrocities of factory farming.

Maybe you should take a trip to your local slaughterhouse. People whom come in contact with slaughterhouses cannot help but be affected by what they see and hear. Those living nearby must daily experience the screams of terror and anger of the animals led to slaughter. Those working inside must also see and participate in the crimes of mayhem and murder. Most who choose this line of work are not on the job for long. Of all occupations in the U.S., slaughterhouse worker has the highest turnover rate.

All I am asking is if you must eat meat don’t support these corporations ie:, McDonalds, KFC, that do nothing to practice humane alternatives to factory farming.

If you must eat meat, buy food that is certified humane raised and handled. All livestock should have access to clean and sufficient food and water, their environment should not be dangerous to their health, they should have sufficient protection from weather elements, sufficient space allowance in order for them to move naturally; and other features to ensure their safety, health and comfort and not be kicked and dragged.

Managers and caretakers should be thoroughly trained, skilled and competent in animal husbandry and welfare, and have good working knowledge of their system and the livestock in their care.

I will never support these corporations in Chatham County that let greed come before compassion. The next time you take a bite of a hamburger just think how that animals last hours were spent.
