wiggly wormsYes, it’s a curious title but it got your attention, right? What hair, worms and Antonella have in common is that I’m giving them a shout out – they’re a great part of our community.

I read a glowing recommendation about Dana Russell at Salon Blue so I made an appointment with her to cut my hair. She did a great job, very quickly (and I have a lot of hair) and had some good ideas for future maintenance. I like that Salon Blue is in town and conveniently located so close to my home. Since Dana also lives in town, the very reasonable amount of money I paid stays in Pittsboro and helps the local economy. Thanks Dana! Salon Blue 919-545-0107

Antonella Kundig is the owner of Antonella’s, a salon in historic downtown Pittsboro. I spent some very relaxing time there a few weeks ago. Antonella is very welcoming and professional. She assessed my skin problems and gave me some tips on how I could take better care of it. I bought a product that she recommended (there was no hard sell) and it is working like a charm. Now for the worms. I have a friend who for years has partly thanked worms for his beautiful flowers and plants. He actively engages in vermiculture which uses worms and their castings (a.k.a. poop) in compost to make black gold that plants love. I recently attended a Vermiculture workshop organized by the Abundance Foundation and came away with a greater understanding of vermiculture, as well as a bucket of wonderful wiggly worms, and a vented plastic bin to grow my worms.
