The Good Old Boys

As it turns out, I am a good old boy. A friend called me recently to discuss my post regarding Max Cotten and the recent vote on rezoning by the town council. He and talked about my feelings regarding Mr. Cotten. We both agreed that my words were unnecessarily harsh. He also let me know that I am, in fact, a good old boy.

Here is the evidence:

I was born and raised in North Carolina, down East, Central, Piedmont.I have connections with my community and get “favors” from friends. I now know who to call to get help from local authorities. I do in fact know how to “talk the talk, and walk the walk”. My friend is a real estate agent who is also a friend of Max Cotten. Just so you know, he has promised not to have anything to do with that entity called “Pittsboro Place”. He would not commit to any other promise regarding investments related to the parcel of land in question during this recent rezoning debacle, but I am optimistic that he will stay out the feeding frenzy, he is that kind of person. He is a good person.

I shall reserve my suspicions until I receive some concrete answers concerning the why and how and when of the whole thing. Here are my questions:

Why the rush Max? Why couldn’t this wait until the land study was complete?

Who is invested in any way in the development of the land in question? (please don’t make me be specific, that is so insulting)

Did any developers have secret meetings regarding the development of the parcel in question (see above in parentheses)?

Were there ANY meetings between the developers of Pittsboro place and members of the council at any time in the past?

Which real estate firms stand to profit from this venture?

Have you ever been to a real bowling alley?

Who else voted to rezone?

I await the answers to these questions in heartfelt acceptance. Be honest. No hemming and hawing or evasive answers. You know what I am asking. If you really believe in this kind of development then come forward.

Stand in the light so we can see you.

I welcome your communication and opinion, suggestion or critique. You won’t hurt my feelings. Please be sensitive to my schedule and family please. They are concerned that I am inviting negative behavior. I am unconcerned. You wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t care.

Besides, I have a dog that bites (sorry, Chris, Lyle, Scott, Tina, the dish network guy, and anyone else Bing has attacked). I will stand up for what is right. I will ask you questions. I will always wait for the answers.
