To answer the question from the chatlist:.The food drive was started more then 10 years ago. It was started by City Carriers first, then the Rural Carriers became a part of it. Mother’s Day weekend has always been the date. If anyone wants to take food to a Post Office building they are free to do so, that would help their carrier and the people who receive the food donations.
