The futility of public Input: A harsh reality check

The futility of public Input: A harsh reality check

Mr. Booko,

In case it isn’t abundantly clear yet, let me state the obvious: no amount of public input, protest, complaint, phone calls, emails, etc. to our alleged representatives, emphasis on the alleged, is going to do a damned bit of good to stop this from happening.  The reason is equally obvious: they don’t care about The People of this community, and they have no reason or incentive to do so.  What are you going to do about it?  Vote harder?  It’s pure crony corruption and I seriously doubt there are any legal means that could be employed to stop it.

There is an old but true saying, reason and force are the only ways to influence others. Govt. is force, and any reason on its part went out the window decades ago. Yet, the people are told that they must be reasonable, even while being raped and robbed.

The only good that the protests, votes, meetings, and every other form of peaceful redress do is score points in what I call the moral war, which will be important for getting people on your side when things finally go immoral.
