Unhappy with Chatham County’s leadership? Step up and run

Are you a disgusted Democrat? A repulsed Republican? A livid Libertarian? An upset Unaffiliated? Dislike what is going on in your Chatham County schools or your money that is taxed and then unwisely spent by the commissioners? Could the county (and county staff) be run more efficiently?

If you think so, then you have something to consider – running for office. The first and second district county commissioner and first and second district school board members are up for election, with the primaries in March. To run, you must file with the Chatham County Board of Elections between noon December 5 and noon December 15.

It is up to the county’s registered voters to decide who controls the public purse and how big that purse gets.

Get off your rear and do something – or put up with another four years of the same type of politicians Chatham has had for the last 200 years.
