There are three great repeaters in Chatham County and one in nearby Chapel Hill:
– Fire Tower VHF Repeater at Rx 145.2300, Tx 144.6300, Tone 107.2
– Siler City UHF Repeater at Rx 443.4750, Tx 448.4750, Tone 131.8
– Fire Tower DMR (digital mobile radio) Repeater at TGIF network TG31376, Rx 440.6500, Tx 445.6500, Color Code 1, Time Slot 1 or 2
– Chapel Hill UHF Repeater at Rx 442.1500, Tx 147.7350, Tone 131.8
Please feel free to use these repeaters for amateur radio operations. In an emergency, check in as follows –
Fire Tower DMR top of each hour
Fire Tower VH 15 minutes after the hour
Siler City UHF 30 minutes after the hour
Chapel Hill UHF 45 minutes after the hour
Remember, one must be a licensed amateur radio operator to transmit on any amateur radio frequency.
