Jon Shain and FJ Ventre at Bynum Front Porch on July 30

If you haven’t already joined Bynum Front Porch this summer for one of these FREE, family friendly, Friday evening shows, make this one your first. Bring your families, friends and lawn chairs, grab some food at the Wildfire food truck, and stay for two incredible hours of music under the stars.

Friday, July 30. 7:00PM

950 Bynum Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312

Jon Shain and FJ Ventre have been friends since their high school days in Massachusetts and have been playing music together for most of the time they’ve know each other. Since their last album release, Jon Shain and FJ Ventre have stayed very busy. In 2019, Shain won the International Blues Challenge in the solo/duo category, which opened many doors for touring and teaching for the duo.

Their new album, “Never Found a Way to Tame the Blues”, was released on July 9 and represents an homage to the blues influences that shaped the duo’s musical sensibilities while addressing issues both social and personal.

The duo play all around the borders of the blues, including elements of blues-rock, jazz rhythms, ragtime picking, and John Hurt-esque folk melodies. They proudly wear their other influences on our sleeves, at times referencing Los Lobos, Stephen Stills, fingerstyle expert Roy Book Binder, and British jazz-folk act The Pentangle.

In case of inclement weather, the show will be held inside the historic Bynum General Store.

Please, no pets or alcohol.

Come rock with us.
