Sat 10am-2pm – the Juneteenth gala: Raise Awareness on Asian Privilege

As a taxpayer you donate to this official “Chatham 250” event, sponsored by Director Zelek and our County Health Dept (CCPHD): https://corenc.org So, come enjoy “free” stuff, music and maybe lunch!  At the County fairgrounds.  Email me to co-attend.

See Chatlist #7005, CCPHD and CORE are partners in fingering white Privilege.
o  CCPHD: “The rate of deaths from heart disease per 100,000 is higher among Black/African-American … residents in Chatham County compared to White … residents.”  And: “…life expectancy for members of the Black/African-Americans population is nearly 5 years shorter than White residents.”
o  CORE: “Racism results in racial inequities … – with White people having better outcomes compared to Black people, and all other races falling somewhere in between.”

Sadly both are deniers – of Asian Privilege.  It’s egregious from Director Zelek – HIDING AND DENYING HIS OWN NUMBERS (in Chatham County Community Assessment 2018).

On p.75, “Chatham Heart Disease Rates per 100,000”.  OOPS – undeniably Asians are better off than whites!  Guess you “forgot” Hispanics and Asians, Science Denier Zelek?
o  Hispanic: 27.7
o  Asian and Pacific Islander: 53.4
o  white (NonHispanic): 94.7
o  Black (NonHispanic): 155.6

Chatham Life Expectancy is in line with national averages.  Studies show Asians live slightly longer than whites.  And make MORE money than anyone. More Asian Privilege.  ATTN Denier Zelek: minorityhealth.hhs.gov/omh/browse.aspx?lvl=3&lvlid=63

On Zelek’s p.100:  “The percentage of Chatham County adults who held a bachelor’s degree or higher was much higher among White and Asian adults (46.6% and 51.4%, respectively) than Black/African-American or Hispanic/Latinx adults (16.7% and 14.5%, respectively).”   More Asian Privilege.

Zelek and UNC (who granted his advanced degree) should be ashamed.  Only deniers intentionally “forget” Asian Privilege.  Attend!  With white Privilege covered, let’s speak out on Asian Privilege.  Not to forget school Racism per Chatlist #7005.
