Gene has always chosen to defend anonymous posters on the Chat List, which is a PUBLIC platform. It wouldn’t be an issue if what anonymous posters said was fair. But what readers object to is the disrespect it shows for all members of our community. We’re talking about real people who don’t necessarily deserve the criticism leveled against them IN PUBLIC by people whose own privacy Gene feels duty bound to protect. Not fair, Gene.
