Haw River “Virtual” Learning Celebration Online Now!

Haw River “Virtual” Learning Celebration Online Now!

For 30 years, the Haw River Assembly has brought 48,000 4th graders to a wonderful interactive field trip on the Haw River. Since Covid-19 kept us from doing this in person this fall, we created a virtual online version of our field trip! We are offering it to all the 4th grade teachers in the Haw River watershed but also welcome everyone to enjoy it.

There are six episodes with the activities the Learning Celebration offers, including water monitoring, solutions to pollution, cultural history, wildlife, art, geology and more. Join us in sharing our love for the river, and exploring nature.

The episodes include original music and animation and fantastic puppets from Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Episodes are 12 to 18 minutes each and can be viewed separately. They are free to watch and fun for ALL ages! (Donations are greatly appreciated!)
