“Were you once my Sweet-Pea”- Again

On March 26th I wrote a Chatlist piece telling how i found civilized Sweet Peas growing in the ditch of hyway 64 and trying to figure out how they got there. I don’t remember throwing them there and there are so many of them, I don’t think I would have had that many seeds on hand. But at other times, I seem to have some very foggy memory of tossing seeds there. The latter i think is post senior auto suggestion.

I tried transplanting some a month ago and they have not prospered very well. I tried again, and the plants are bigger and seem to be more adaptable- (Sweet peas resent transplanting- the root system is very fragile.

So now, they are big enough that i have potted some hoping to have a sweet pea sale one of these days. I have no idea if they are annual type or perennial.

Anyone else grow the sweetest of peas?
