Subject: Ticks, Other Nasties and Permethrin
After reading the Chatlist post on ticks and Permethrin I wanted to mention a North Carolina company by the name of Insect Shield. They sell clothing impregnated with permethrin. I learned about them in an article in the NC Wildlife Commission magazine Wildlife in NC. I bought the first clothes from them a number of years ago. And have been a firm believer since.
I have been a long time customer, but have no part of the company as an owner, partner or other owner / investor. They just have a fantastic product in my experience. Their clothes are also sold through others such as REI, but buying direct has ghd best prices.
Ticks can be deadly, but NC also has the most irritating bug on the planet: chiggers. And their clothing has proven 100% effective for me when others with me had, literally, over 100 bites
They also will take clothing of yours and impregnate it also.
