Temporary measures at The Joyful Jewel

Dear Joyful Community,

I have agonized over this decision knowing that it affects each of our artists and their individual businesses in a direct way as well as the Joyful Jewel.  We were open our regular hours this past Sun., Mon. & Tues. and there were no sales — people are heeding the orders to stay home, and now that the restaurants are closed too, even more folks will stay away.

I have decided to work at the Joyful Jewel only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, only being open for deliveries (from you) and pickups (from patrons), not for browsing.  All must sanitize on coming in, and all new work that is brought in must be sanitized too.  If you don’t have your own supplies to do this at home, we have spray and wipes here.  Please let me know by email if you plan to come in, as my hours may not be full.

I’ll be taking photos and putting together a digital catalog (including prices) with an email newsletter going out on Wednesdays and Saturdays, inviting patrons to purchase over the phone on one of those days, and then to pick up their packaged and ready to go pieces on one of those days. Purchases can also be mailed. Of course it won’t be as good as browsing in person and the inventory pictured will be limited. I will only include items currently in the shoppe, so it’s a reliable way to purchase.  This is what I feel safe doing just now.

Thank you for understanding, for all the support you give, and for all you are doing to stay safe, healthy and vibrant yourselves in this uncertain time.  As soon as is prudent and advised by the governor we will re-open regular hours.

Peace, Mariah
