I drove around the courthouse in Pittsboro the other day- Bricks were being put in place to replace the base where the statue once stood. I noticed that all the bricklayers were Black- Men that knew what they were doing and they were doing an excellent job. It occurred to me that those responsible for the removal of the statue should be the ones to do the restoration work- But no- those smart know ‘it all’ from Fearrington just don’t have the street smarts for such an important task. They are probably concentrating on how they can next disrupt our community.
