Subject: 48 years without a hair cut?
Not what you think- I do not have repunzel floor length hair flowing all over the place. Few would suspect I haven’t been to a barber in all those years . ..
I did not say I haven’t had a hair cut since 1972 when I moved to chatham county . I really never seem to like the way my hair looks when cut by someone that is supposed to know what they are doing. And be sides , the first couple hours the itching on the back of my neck from lingering hair particles drove me nuts. I decided to cut my own hair. I got good at it.
Then for a few years in late ’70s I wore it rather long so it needed little cutting . that was post-beatnik period so don’t go picturing the wrong image. From ’86 to 1994 I had a beard to boot. Was I dashing? Hope history will be kinder than snapshots of the day .
In the mid to late ’90s until about 2005 I colored my hair . more disasters. Fooling no one , not even myself . since then, with less hair, and wave after wave of white and silver, it is me you see- like it or not-, that’s what you got.
