Subject: Invasive Species Removal Workday on June 29th in Bynum
June 29th at 8:30 am – Invasive Species Removal Workday in Lower Haw River State Natural Area
Friends of Lower Haw is having an invasive plant species workday on Saturday morning, June 29th in the Bynum Mill section of the Lower Haw River State Natural Area in Chatham County. State Parks Piedmont Biologist Sean Gough will be leading the workday. Learn about invasive plant species and removal techniques. All tools will be provided. Bring work gloves, wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Bring insect repellent and water. Contact with “Invasives” in the subject line to sign up. We will meet at 8:30 am in the Bynum Mill Access parking lot off Bynum Church Road, and work until 11:30 am. Please note there are no restroom facilities at this location.
Directions: The Bynum Mill Access parking lot is located at the Haw River between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. From US 15-501, turn on Durham-Eubanks Road and follow it to the stop sign. At the stop sign, cross over Bynum Road and continue uphill on Bynum Church Road.
