3pm                        MS Word Basics, Part 2.  In this workshop, we’ll build on the concepts we learned in Part 1 of the Microsoft Word Basics class.  Topics covered in this workshop include: adding and removing Quick Start buttons, modifying line spacing, creating bulleted and numbered lists, creating tables, formatting columns, formatting margins, adding headers and footers, inserting text boxes, graphics, and symbols. We will be using Microsoft Word 2013.
Prerequisites:  Participants should have taken Microsoft Word, Part 1 or have prior basic experience with Microsoft Word.  Participants must be comfortable operating a computer.  This workshop is FREE and open to the public; however, class size is limited and registration is required. Wednesday, July 25
10am-12pm          Libraries Rock!: Midweek Movie Matinee. Chill out at Chatham Community Library with a cool family movie! Bring your own snacks, a comfy blanket or pillow, and settle in for a family favorite. Due to licensing restrictions we can only post the movie title on the library website calendar.  In today’s movie Kermit and his newfound friends trek across America to find success in Hollywood, but a frog legs merchant is after Kermit. 9am                         Genealogy Assistance. Volunteer genealogists are available to assist with family history research, whether your ancestors lived in Chatham County, the 50 states, or overseas.  A genealogist is on site in the library most Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon, and other days and times by appointment.  Call 919-545-8086 to make an appointment. Sessions take place in the Local History & Genealogy area of Chatham Community Library.  Please bring as much written documentation as you have about the topic you are researching, as well as a flash drive for saving documents and/or money for printing.

1pm                      Libraries Rock!: Snakes Alive!  Legendary herpetologist Ron Cromer is back with Snakes Alive! In this always popular science program, you will learn about the lives, habits, and characteristics of reptiles, especially snakes! Learn a little more by getting up close and personal with approximately two dozen, native harmless reptiles including snakes and lizards, all specially tamed for petting! This event is best for ALL ages.  PLEASE NOTE: Due to the popularity of the Snakes Alive! event, we will be distributing tickets one hour prior to each show on Friday, July 27. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact Katy at (919) 545-8085.

Saturday, July 28
3:30pm                      Spanish Book Club – Our book club ‘Tertulia Compaginar’ reads titles originally written in Spanish. We do not read translations into Spanish from any language. We read both fiction and non-fiction books. The majority of our members are originally English native speakers, with the added benefit of a few native Spanish speakers from different countries in Latin America. Our sessions are a bi-monthly 1-1/2 hour immersion into both the Spanish language and its cultures. All interested persons are welcome to apply. People are welcome to RSVP to audit.
