Subject: RE: Political Sign Permit in Pittsboro

The primary election is over and we will soon have certified winners from the Chatham County Board of Elections: Watts, Hackney and Roberson.

The Town of Pittsboro and its sitting Chief of Police, Percy Crutchfield, should be embarrassed that the Town did not fairly enforce or enforce at all its political sign ordinance.

The large and offending 32 square foot Percy sign was still on Thompson Street across from the Board of Elections two days after the election ended.

The sign should have been moved immediately after people noticed that it was too large.

If the Crutchfield campaign gets its $50 deposit back from the Town of Pittsboro after violating the political sign permit the people should wonder why the ordinance even exists in the first place.

That said I have received a number of interesting emails regarding the primary and I appreciate the input I received and I wish all of the candidates well going forward.
