12:30-1:30pm      CCL Exceptional Stories. People of all ages and abilities are invited to join us for Exceptional Stories – an inclusive Craft & Learn program. Each month’s session will feature books, short stories, and/or poems around a discussion topic, and participants will complete a craft. Caregivers are encouraged to attend. Wednesday, May 9
4-5pm                   Drop-in Computer Assistance.  Do you have a specific computer question?  Need to know how to insert page numbers in your Word document, create an email account, or get started with library eBooks?  Drop in to Chatham Community Library’s computer lab for one-on-one assistance on the second Wednesday of each month, any time between 4:00 and 5:00 pm.  (If you have a question about something on your personal laptop or device, please bring it with you.)  We can typically spend about 20 minutes with each patron.  Please come prepared with your specific questions.  If you need extensive help with basic computer skills, we recommend that you take advantage of our Computer Basics classes.  First come, first served.  No registration required.  Please call 919-545-8086 with any questions.

9am-Noon                  Genealogy Assistance. Volunteer genealogists are available to assist with family history research, whether your ancestors lived in Chatham County, the 50 states, or overseas.  A genealogist is on site in the library most Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon, and other days and times by appointment. Call 919-545-8086 to make an appointment. Sessions take place in the Local History & Genealogy area of Chatham Community Library.  Please bring as much written documentation as you have about the topic you are researching, as well as a flash drive for saving documents and/or money for printing.

10:30am                        Kids’ Craft & Learn: Explore Chinese Culture.. Families are invited to celebrate Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month in this special Craft & Learn session centered around Chinese and Chinese-American culture. Hear stories, play games, and make a craft to take home. Try some Chinese snack food! This event is best for preschool and elementary school aged children and their families.
