I so totally remember a few years back when local homeowners complained about the incursion of the construction of moneyed blight called Briar Chapel:-). Local folks who lived in Chatham County were worried about how so many procreating people would cause an impediment to the flow of 15-501. How Briar Chapel would dam up travel with a traffic light. How Briar Chapel would bring more stuff to add to the landfill, flood the local schools and create more malls and mediocre pizza.
I am sure the beavers who have owned homes for generations in the area that was over-run by “Briar Chapel” — I am sure those beavers agree.
Maybe it would be better to build pedestrian bridges elsewhere? And maybe (just maybe) the flooding cul de sacs are constructed in low lying areas that are prone to flooding with-or-without beavers?
