Save the Date!

April 8-14 is National Library Week<http://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/celebrationweeks/natlibraryweek>, an annual celebration of the life-changing work of libraries, librarians and library workers. Celebrate with Chatham County Public Libraries<http://www.chathamnc.org/government/departments-programs/library> as it hosts a “Fine Forgiveness Day” on Wednesday, April 11!

Return overdue items and have late fees for those items waived! Patrons must visit the Library in-person. Fines will not be waived for items left in the drop-box or via phone requests. Only overdue fines will be waived. Fine forgiveness does not apply to replacement costs or to processing charges. Library materials that become overdue after April 11 are not eligible for fine waivers. Bring your overdue items to your favorite branch during regular business hours to take advantage of this opportunity!
Hours of operation on April 11 are:

Chatham Community Library (Pittsboro): 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
Goldston Library: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Wren Memorial Library (Siler City): 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Fine forgiveness allows the Library to recover materials and encourages those with overdue items to reconnect with their Library! The program aligns with the Library’s commitment to eliminating barriers to service and providing basic access for all, especially those most in need of library services.

First sponsored in 1958<http://www.ala.org/aboutala/1958/national-library-week-history>, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association<http://www.ala.org/> (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.

In keeping with the NC Public Records Law, e-mails, including attachments, may be released to others upon request for inspection and copying.
