Subject: Introducing Acupuncture HealthWorks!
I am a local, North Chatham acupuncturist.
Practicing now for close to twenty years, I found acupuncture after my own health issues thirty some years ago left me with symptoms that traditional medicine had no solution for. So I figured I’d better think outside the box. I tried acupuncture and within weeks got relief! I was impressed and intrigued that this medicine could complement the more conventional approach to healthcare.
I soon realized that beyond healing me, acupuncture was the ‘way of the heart’ that I had been looking for-funny because heart problems were what brought me to it! Because of family and business obligations it took me a lot of years to finally complete my academic prerequisites, finish my Bachelors and then my Masters of Science degrees, but what happiness to be able to make acupuncture my life’s work.
I maintained a practice in East Hampton, New York for years until we moved to North Carolina almost nine years ago. My husband retired and our son had relocated to Pittsboro, so Chatham was an easy choice. We really do have the best of all worlds here: I love the proximity to bigger cities along with all they offer, but just for a visit. I prefer the more laid-back, rural pace and flavor of Chatham County for my everyday life.
And that’s one reason I didn’t open an office in a big multi-story office complex or a strip mall. Instead we built our home so that I could have a completely separate office with a private entrance in our little bit of woods, over-looking a pond-conveniently near Cole Park Plaza. It’s my hope to offer clients an experience that reflects the more intimate pace of Chatham County, while providing the same kind of professionalism each would expect from our faster paced neighbors outside Chatham.
