The Compassionate Friends is a national and intentional support organization for families dealing with the death of a child of any age, for any reason, no matter how long ago.  The local chapter of TCF will meet on Monday, November 21, from 7-8:30 pm, at The Evergreen United Methodist Church, 1/4 mile south of the Lowe’s food market at Chatham Crossing shopping area, on 15/501 North.  The group meets in a small grey building at the rear of the parking area.  The group is led by its members, who are all bereaved families.  There are no dues or fees, and it is not necessary to call before coming.  However, if you would like to talk with someone personally, you may call Kathy at 919-542-2166 (home) or 549-727-5424 (cell).

As the holiday season begins this week,  please think of those you know who may be dealing with the loss of a loved one, and especially a child.  Be kind and thoughtful.  It is only necessary to say, “I’m thinking of you, especially now”.   But do make some acknowledgement of their loss.  And remember that everyone grieves in his or her own way – there is no “right  or wrong” way.  This is  especially true  for those who see loved one died during the holiday season.

For those who are bereaved,  your only true responsibility right now is to take care of yourself and those in your care.
