Thanks to Tom Glendenning for posting regarding his bad experience with a plumber…. I think it is a good service for those on Chatlist to know what contractors to stay away from…. got a few I could add to that list myself. Once hired a presumably friend whose price was a set amount per hour per man – which was a fair price…. when they started work, two worked and the third just stood there and watched, was outside walking around talking on the phone. one time he did put a little plaster on a bad part of a ceiling, which, in effect, called for repainting the whole ceiling, as that 1/2 inch defect was barely noticeable, if at all. when I went to pay his bill included himself in the price which was outrageous as he did not work while on the job… said he was the supervisor… well, I did not need a supervisor, I had built 2 houses and remodeled 8… and knew what I was doing… and he was just in the way… at one time all 3 were in a small bathroom that did need the ceiling painted… I had to tell two to get out and paint another area… got took on that job..
